3Dfy Presentation Maker

"3Dfy Presentation Maker" is the cornerstone of the 3Dfy Presentation Suite with its ability to both create and display presentations. 3Dfy Presentation Maker offers companies a competitive advantage by allowing them to showcase exactly how their products, processes or services will benefit their clients. Clients no longer have to "connect the dots"; instead they will see the big picture and then zoom into the details or watch the product, process or service show what it is intended to do. Therefore, companies do not have to hope that their point is being made; they can know that it is, because 3Dfy empowers them to do just that

.

3Dfy Presentation Maker utilizes an easy to use visual editor that assists in the creation 3Dimensional, real-time rendering and animated presentations. It can import 2Dimensional objects from existing Microsoft PowerPoint presentations, the web, photographs or existing files and convert them to 3D using the 3Dfy visual editor. Existing 3D objects, such as CAD objects or objects from a 3D library, can be easily imported into 3Dfy.

The editor screen, as illustrated above, consists of an objects list on the left side of the screen containing "Slides" and objects within each slide. Each slide is a view in a changing, real-time rendered, animated 3D world. Object properties are edited in the edit box below the view window. To give a presentation the user goes to “Slide Show” mode which minimizes the objects list window and the edit box window while the viewer window goes to full screen.

Benefits

3Dfy creates a navigable 3D world in which the presentation takes place. 3D objects, text, charts, surfaces, x-files, diagrams and graphics can be placed in the 3D world to best show how a product, service or process works. The look and feel of a 3Dfy world is very similar to a video game which incorporates real-time movement with a 3D environment to increase the level of realism and comprehension for the user and at the same time separates itself from many of the typical static, 2D presentations seen today in the marketplace

Real-time rendering allows the presentation to be fully interactive. There is no off-line rendering with 3Dfy. The presentation is not canned, it is not a clip that runs from start to finish and can not be changed. In a 3Dfy presentation, a user can navigate through and interact with the presentation whenever they wish. A user can also make changes to the presentation while the presentation is being given. The presenter can go from full screen mode to edit mode and make the changes right in front of the client and the changes are displayed immediately in the viewing window. This provides the user the ability to address questions as the arise during a meeting and give the user the option to answer those questions while they have the clients attention

Users can establish pre-set navigation through a presentation. This keeps things simple so that the user just pushes the “forward” button to progress to the next scene. However the navigation can also be interactive. Using the mouse, keypad or edit controls, the user can zoom in or out, up or down, left or right. Basically a user can move in any 3D direction they wish to view the presentation from a new angle or perspective. To return to the last set camera position, the user pushes the “r” button (reset). The user also can simple push the scene advance or return button to get back to the pre-set navigation

No longer will a presentation be limited to the 'flipping of pages'. Instead, 3Dfy offers the ability to flow seamlessly through each slide transition building on every slide allowing the viewer to maintain a point of context at all times. A good example of this is how 3Dfy can place a complete company organizational chart all in one scene. Using 3Dfy's zooming and navigation capabilities, the presenter can drill into the multiple levels of the company and return to the "big picture" at will

Animation is a key component of 3Dfy as the animation takes place in 3Dfy’s 3D environment. Together these two components, animation and a 3D environment, give 3Dfy users a compelling presentation advantage that empowers them to actually show how their products, services or processes will benefit their clients. 3Dfy allows users to tie objects, text, animation, charts and lights to animation points. Once an animation point is established, animations may be reused by other objects in the presentation. Animation points are simply pre-set animations that are created to within a 3Dfy presentation. Objects can be animated in each scene using linear and non-linear variations of position, scale, rotation angles and animation timing. Animation path view can be turned on and off to allow easy visual editing.

3Dfy Presentation Maker comes with an easy to use visual editor. The visual editor has a “viewer window” where the presentation takes place. This window can be in a “slide show” mode, which is full screen. The user can also go into an edit mode which reduces the size of the viewer window and adds an “object list” on the left side of the screen and an “edit window” on the bottom of the screen. The object list contains “slides” also called “scenes” with objects, x-files, lights and text within each slide. The edit window has the controls for the attributes of each item from the object list

3Dfy has controls for both lighting and fog effect. The lighting controls include ambient light and point lights. Ambient lighting controls the lighting of the whole scene. There is also a control for background lighting. The point light is used to direct light at a specific location in the scene

Once an object, scene, x-file and or animation have been established, it can be reused in the presentation. This decreases the amount of time required to build a presentation. Users can create 3D libraries that commonly used 3D objects can be stored and until they are needed again for a new presentation

3Dfy is a stand-alone product; however it can also run within a Microsoft PowerPoint presentation. This allows 3Dfy clients who currently have a large number of PowerPoint presentations to continue using PowerPoint as part of their presentation strategy, while incorporating 3Dfy’s 3-dimensional capabilities to demonstrate products, services or processes in full animation

Other 3Dfy Presentation Maker features include:

- 3D Charts
Chart Data can either be typed in or cut and pasted from Microsoft Excel spreadsheets. The charts created are fully 3Dimensional and their appearance can be edited with the 3Dfy visual editor

- Directional Lights
In addition to ambient and point lights 3Dfy includes directional lights which allows a uniform directional light that simulates sun light

- Video Surfaces
In addition to the ability of putting a fixed image texture on a surface, 3Dfy supports the ability of specifying a video as a texture for a surface. The video runs in real time on the 3D surface while maintaining all the 3Dfy features including lighting effects and animation

- Non-Linear Animation
In addition to Linear changes in animation parameters, 3Dfy supports non linear changes. This allows objects to be animated along straight lines or curves as well as allowing objects to shrink and expand as well as rotate with variable pitch and zoom factors

- Animation Path Preview
The user can turn on a path view that shows the animation path on the edit screen. This allows the presentation maker to preview the animation path for easy editing

-Advanced Visual Editor with Variable Effect Controls
The visual editor includes variable effect controls that have variable effect on the edited parameter as the user moves the mouse along the control. As an example, the viewer can decide whether to move an object by small increments or by big increments based on where he positions the mouse cursor on the move button. Move increments are also dependent on zoom levels. These new controls are designed after gaining experience in visual editing in a 3D world and improve the editing experience once mastered

- Optimized Real Time Rendering
Rendering speed is maximized by moving more processing work in the render loop to the video hardware and improving the rendering frame rates. This will allow 3Dfy to work better even on older under-powered computers and laptops
